Biofeedback Shows that Sewing Reduces Stress
September 25th, 2008 by admin
This article talks about a very interesting study done on two groups of women led by a biofeedback expert Robert, Reiner, Ph.D. The groups included 15 sewers and non-sewers and their blood pressure, heart rate and skin response was measured. Each woman was measured before and after five different activities; a card game, painting, reading a newspaper, playing a video game and sewing a simple project. Those that sewed showed the lowest levels of stress, blood pressure and heart rate. Not only is it creative but a great stress reducer!
