Biofeedback is Mind-Body Therapy
December 7th, 2007 by admin
Since Biofeedback’s goal is to bring awareness normally subtle and difficult to detect internal signals to consciousness it has been termed a mind-body therapy. This is an apt description because instead of teaching a person how to ignore their body or to ignore their mind biofeedback seeks to bring the two together to increase the mind’s awareness of the body’s function. With this increased awareness comes increased control and often improvement in symptoms.
